Firefox extensions
If you are not already using Firefox, download it! It is a much better browser than Internet Explorer - safer, faster and you can add extensions to it that do lots of cool things.
Here are some of my favourite Firefox and Flock extensions. (Not all of these work with Flock as it is still in development).
Firefox and Flock Extensions
- Web Developer - essential toolbar for web developers created by Chris Pederick.
- Adblock - block adverts and speed up your browsing! It is customisable too.
- PDF Download - gives you options on how to handle PDFs (save them, open in new tab, etc.)
- IE Tab - useful for viewing pages that only work in IE (without having to open IE itself).
- Gmail Notifier - tells you unobtusively when you receive an email in your Gmail account.
- Forecast Fox - automatically fetches the weather forecast now and for the next 5 days for any location you wish.
- FlashGot - popular download manager that helps you download multiple files from one page, plus other features.
- Flashblock - stops Flash from playing automatically. Instead, you choose if you want a Flash movie to play.
- SearchStatus - useful tool for search engine marketing.
- Firefox Backup Extension - backup your favourites, passwords, cookies, extensions, themes.
- Foxclocks - tells you the timezone in multiple cities around the world. Excellent when calling friends overseas.
- Tab Mix Plus - increases your options for how you use tabs. Remembers the tabs you had open the last time you closed Fierfox.
- Firebug - helps web developers debug JavaScript errors.
