Sophia and I are engaged!
I've not told anyone other than my parents and sister yet. I mean, how are you supposed to announce a huge piece of news like this, especially when you are away from home. So hey, how better than via my blog?
I bought Sophia a diamond (online of course) and used it as bribery to persuade her to accept my proposition. I can't believe she fell for it! We've since visited a few jewellers in KL and her band (ring) is now being crafted.
We have not decided on a wedding ceremony yet though it is likely to be in Asia. It won't be a typical British or Chinese wedding, it will be something different and meaningful. The important thing is that I've found an amazing person and I want to spend a lot more time with her 🙂
Jake, congratulations mate! Sure the future holds many more interesting adventures for you both … looking forward to seeing you both on your Australian Outback honeymoon ;o)
You don’t know me, I barely know you – but I’ve been dipping in and out of your blog for a while so I feel somehow connected.

oh lordy, i can’t believe it!!! Congratulations guys, Sophia i think you’re mad but maybe you see a different side to Jake then the rest of us 😉 Guys, I couldn’t be happier for you both and getting married in Asia is such a great idea… as long as i’m on the invite list!!! Congrats on your E-engagement, Sophia and Jake! As a locale for your nuptial gluing, I’m not entirely sold on the idea of a vegetarian barbecue at Professor Leakey’s jungle clearing in East Kalimantan, which I expect is among the options you’re plotting. You oft manifest a fearsome creativity…… Sophia will surely continue to enjoy your idiosyncratic approach to existence!
